This project mapped key political stakeholders and decision makers in the air quality field ahead of the national parliamentary elections in Poland in 2023. The project also scoped the pathways and process to inserting and amplifying clean air policies within the 2023 national election are well-defined and clear.

The objective of the project is to have the EU fully align with the new WHO AQ guidelines in the revised Ambient Air Quality Directives

This project will support the Polish government in adopting the revised EU Ambient Air Quality Directives (AAQDs) with AQ standards aligned with WHO. The project will provide evidence to the Polish government regarding the consequences/impact of full alignment with the new WHO/EU AAQD standards and policy scenarios to achieve them.

Working with 6 Polish cities to prepare plans to fully comply with EU Clean Air for Europe and National Emissions Ceilings Directives and highlight that it is possible to achieve ambitious air quality standards.

Six Polish cities will prepare plans to 100% comply with EU CAFE and NEC Directives and showcase to the national government it is possible to achieve ambitious AQ standards.

Through campaigning and advocacy activities, enforcement of anti-smog resolutions will be strengthened in 3 Polish regions.

Through training and subgrants, womens activists will include air pollution in their campaigning activities.

Doctors are engaged on the health impacts of air pollution by joining a Doctors' Network for Clean Air and become spokespeople both with patients, the wider public and decision makers.

This project provided support to the City of Warsaw to assess the impacts of different Low Emission Zone (LEZ) options for the city in order to provide a robust case for taking forward a scheme.

Mobilising and strengthening the scientific community in Southeast Europe, reviewing available evidence on health impacts and making it more accessible.
