Zethu is a dedicated professional with a strong passion for social impact projects. With over a decade of experience in both the private and NGO sectors, Zethu brings a multi-stakeholder approach to environmental sector projects. Her enthusiasm for environmental issues led her to begin her career in environmental education, collaborating with leading conservation organisations in South Africa.
In the private sector, Zethu has worked with one of the largest global sportswear brands, where she developed a keen interest in the triple bottom line—Environmental, Social, and Economic. She understands how this comprehensive framework can enhance organisational efficiency and promote a holistic approach. Zethu’s latest role was with the Southern African German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAGCC), where she provided sector advice to German companies wishing to enter the Southern African market in sustainable energy, water and waste management. This also included stakeholder management and fostering bilateral discussions between South Africa and Germany on climate change and related topics.
Zethu holds an Honors degree in Environmental Management. Her career continues to focus on impact work, advocacy, and engagement, aiming to strengthen policies that address issues affecting the general population. She is committed to ensuring that her work continues to promote that everyone has the right to a healthy and safe environment.
Why Zethu works for Clean Air Fund
Like numerous countries globally, South Africa faces significant air pollution challenges, disproportionately affecting marginalised communities. The impacts of air pollution extend beyond health, exacerbating social inequality within low-income communities. Joining Clean Air Fund presents an opportunity for me to actively address these issues, fostering dialogue on air quality to raise awareness and drive meaningful change.
